Support to Law Enforcement
The legislation provides funding to local law enforcement agencies to create and protect jobs in order to prevent crime and keep our communities safe.
Improve our Water Infrastructure
The recovery bill contains $94,230,081 for clean water projects for the State of Indiana. For example, the City of Walton received a $1,185,000 interest-free loan for their waste water treatment plant.
Stabilize the Housing Market
To help communities deal with the housing crisis, the bill provides $2 billion for the Neighborhood Stabilization Fund, which is designed to help communities purchase and rehabilitate foreclosed homes. For example, the City of South Bend received $4,098,521 to purchase foreclosed homes at a discount and to rehabilitate or redevelop them in order to respond to rising foreclosures and falling home values.
