Washington, D.C. -Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly announced that Skylar Diggins, a high school senior from South Bend, will be his guest for President Obama’s speech before a joint session of Congress.
“I am thrilled that Skylar Diggins will be joining me tomorrow night for President Obama’s speech before a joint session of Congress,” Donnelly said. “Skylar is an extraordinary young woman who is a great student first and foremost and also an incredible athlete. I am proud of her accomplishments, and I look forward to her visit to Washington. She will represent all the hard-working, talented students we have in north central Indiana.”
Diggins, a Washington High School senior who will be participating in the All-American High School Basketball Game this April, will be attending Notre Dame next year. She ranks third all-time in state history with 2,662 career points and has maintained a 3.87 GPA off the court.
