Washington, D.C. -Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly sent a letter to Governor Mitch Daniels asking him to give priority consideration to those areas that have been hardest hit by the current economic situation as he begins to allocate recovery funds.
“During the past few months, I’ve been working with my colleagues in Congress to ensure that a portion of the economic recovery funding be targeted to those communities that have suffered the most in the current economy,” Donnelly said. “I sent this letter to Governor Daniels to draw his attention to a section of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that requires states, when selecting transportation projects, to give special consideration to economically distressed areas.”
