Washington, D.C. -Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly released the following statement on his opposition to President Obama’s executive order to roll back restrictions on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.

“I am a strong supporter of many promising forms of stem cell research, such as cord blood and amniotic stem cell research,” Donnelly said. “I do not, however, support embryonic stem cell research as I oppose using taxpayers’ dollars to support research that destroys human embryos. I will continue doing everything in my power to protect the sanctity of life and support other promising forms of stem cell research that do not destroy embryos.”
