Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly announced that the City of Kokomo will receive $50,000 from the United States Department of Agriculture‘s Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) program.
“These rural development funds will help support small and emerging businesses in Kokomo,” Donnelly said. “Bringing jobs to our area is my top priority, and investing in rural businesses will help us to achieve this goal.”
The RBEG program aims to promote rural development. Projects funded under the RBEG program benefit small and emerging private businesses in rural areas. Rural public entities, towns, communities, state agencies, and authorities are eligible to apply for RBEG grants.
The City of Kokomo will receive $50,000 to be used to start a revolving loan fund to serve small and emerging businesses in the city. It is expected that this project will create five jobs.
