Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly announced that the cities of Elkhart and LaPorte will receive Community Development Block (CDBG) Grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

“These funds will help address the housing needs of and expand economic opportunities for people in Elkhart and LaPorte,” Donnelly said. “As we begin to slowly emerge from these difficult economic times, funds like these greatly help our communities.”

The City of Elkhart will receive $748,528 and the City of LaPorte will receive $500,135. The grants were allotted through formula funding.
